What does it mean that the Best Egg Credit Card is in BETA?

When a new product is in BETA, it simply means it’s newly launched and has limited features that we will expand over time. The Best Egg Credit Card BETA officially launched to a small group of invite-only applicants during Spring 2021. If you’re reading this, it means you’re probably one of them!

If you join us, it means you’ll be a part of an exclusive group that’s going to directly help us expand, decide what new features to build, and get access to our Community where you can earn gift cards from sharing your opinion about the experience.

What’s the Priority List and why should I join?

If you received an email offer for a Best Egg Credit Card, you’re already invited to apply and can start an application.

If you haven’t received an email that invites you to apply, we would like to invite you to join our Priority List, which will keep you up-to-date on when you’re able to apply for the Best Egg Credit Card.

Why does Best Egg have a credit card when it also offers loans for consolidating credit cards?

Why is it an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 19.99%

Great question. Annual Percentage Rate, or APR, is one of the most important things to look for when shopping for credit cards. So why 19.99%? APRs of similar credit cards can range up to 36% and still be variable. What is the Community and how do I get in?

When you become a Best Egg Credit Card customer, you’ll be invited to join our Community. The Community is made up of customers to take part in discussions and activities that directly help us make decisions on what features we will add to the Best Egg Credit Card BETA. When you participate, you’ll earn points, which you can turn into gift cards for places like Amazon, Walmart, or Target.

Yes, you read that correctly—participate in our discussions and activities, and you’ll earn rewards that you can turn into gift cards—all by sharing your point of view. And it’s exclusive to Best Egg customers. We will send you an invitation shortly after becoming a Best Egg cardholder.

What are the requirements to apply for a Best Egg Credit Card?

To apply for a card, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen currently living in the U.S., or a permanent resident currently living in the U.S.
  • Be of legal age to enter a contract for a credit card in the state they reside
  • Have a valid email address
  • Have a physical address

What information do you use to look at to see if I qualify?

We consider:

  • Information you provide in your credit card application
  • Information provided about you by the credit bureaus (including things like your credit score)
  • How much money you owe compared to your income (known as your debt to income ratio). This helps us make sure that we offer the right credit card for the right people.

There will be no impact to your credit score if we’re unable to approve you.

What information do you need when I apply for a Best Egg Credit Card?

Our application is short and to the point. When you apply for a Best Egg Credit Card, we’ll ask you a few questions regarding your personal information, housing, income, and a few other important details.

How can I find out the status of my credit card application?

Typically, you’ll know if you’ve been approved for a Best Egg Credit Card right after submitting your application. In some cases, you may need to send us more information to help us verify your information. In other cases, you might just have to wait a few days for us to review your application. We estimate that you’ll have final decision within 1-3 business days.

How long will it take for my card to arrive?

Once approved or requested, your card should arrive within 7-10 business days.

How do I activate my card?

When you receive your Best Egg Credit Card in the mail, call us at 855-301-4631 to activate your card. Then, you’ll be all set!

How do I view my account activity?

To view your account activity, simply log in to your online account to get started.

How do I make payments?

Auto pay: The easiest way to make payments! Log in or call us at 833-707-1226 to enroll in auto pay. You can sign up to have payments automatically withdrawn for your minimum, full balance, or another custom amount.

Online: Log in to your account to schedule one-time payments.

Phone: Call us anytime at 833-707-1226 to schedule one-time payments.

Mail: Mail us a check to the address below. Please allow 5-7 business days for your payment to reach us.

Payments not received 3 calendar days after your due date may incur a fee up to $39.

How long does take for my available credit to update after I make a payment?

It may take up to 7 business days for your available credit to reflect your most recent payment.

Will I be charged any fees while using this card?

There are two main fees you may come across using your Best Egg Credit Card – a Late Fee and a Returned Payment Fee (also sometimes called a non-sufficient funds fee). You’ll never be charged an annual fee, membership fee, foreign transaction fees, or overlimit fees. If you choose to use your card for a cash advance, you will be charged either $10 or 4% of the amount of each cash advance, whichever is greater.

How do I change my contact information that’s tied to the card?

To change your contact information, log in to your account and go into your Profile. From there, you’ll be able to make any necessary changes to your contact information. You can also call us at 833-707-1226 and we can update it for you.

Do I have the option to receive paper statements?

Yes! You can receive paper statements, in addition to accessing your statements online.

To enroll in paper statements, log in to your account and click on ‘Profile,’ or call us at 833-707-1226 and an agent can assist. Make sure that your mailing address is up-to-date!

If you enroll in paper statements, you can still access your statements online in your account.

Can I add authorized users to my account?

Sure can! You can add authorized users online or by giving us a call at 833-707-1226. You can call us anytime to remove an authorized user.

How do I activate a card for an authorized user?

All cards for authorized users can be activated by calling us at 855-301-4631. Then, they’ll be all set!

Can I change my payment due date? When is my payment due?

Your due date will fall on the same day each month. Give us a call at 833-707-1226 to change your due date.

What SCRA benefits will someone receive on their Best Egg Credit Card?

If eligible, servicemembers and/or their dependents will receive these benefits:

  • Your interest rate will be lowered to 5% for the life of the account
  • Late and returned payment fees will be waived as of the active duty start date

How do I request to receive SCRA benefits from Best Egg?

What kind of Visa benefits do I get with my card?

As a Best Egg Credit Cardholder, you’ll be able to take advantage of all Visa Traditional Credit Card benefits. Learn more about what protections, discounts, and services you can take advantage of here.

WHAT HAPPENS IF…

What happens if I go over my credit line?

While your card has no overlimit fee, we monitor your account activity and can allow you to go over your limit in certain instances. Once you go overlimit, you won’t be able to make new charges on your account until you pay down your balance.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If you miss a payment due date, you may be charged a late fee up to $39. Opting-in to auto pay is a great way to make sure you never miss a payment and continue to build your credit.

How do I request a replacement card if mine is lost / stolen?

If your card is lost or stolen, call or log in online to lock your card ASAP. Then, please call one of our agents at 833-707-1226. They can help you order a new card and help you dispute any charges you didn’t make.
